Mithun Dutta's recent series takes a dip into memory lane and casually brings up some glimpses of street life with respect to childhood experience. By use of black and white with subtle tinges of grayish yellow the artist tries to capture the various moods of a child in varied situations. The geometric patterns (predominantly triangles, straight lines and circles in blotches) and arrangement of objects (both living and non-living) in canvas traces a journey, which gradually deviates from dreams to ruthlessness to determination, which slowly gets immersed in stressful calculation. The series underlines street life of metropolis precisely with multiple usages of objects from everyday life. Crows, Kites, a target and alphabets to name a few.
